1. Steering Joint Cover

1.

Remove the steering joint cover (A).


2. Footrest


1.

For some models: Remove the lower clip (A) from the stud bolt (B) with a 6 mm hex socket wrench.


2.

For some models: Remove the upper clip (C) from the stud bolt (D) with a flat-tip screwdriver, then remove the footrest (E).


3. Front Seat Belt Lower Anchor Bolt - 2-Door


1.

Remove the lower anchor cap (A).


2.

Remove the lower anchor bolt (B).


4. Front Door Sill Trim - 2-Door


1.

Remove the cap (A).


2.

Remove the opener lock cylinder (B).


3.

Remove the screw (A).


4.

Remove the front door sill trim (A).


5. Front Door Sill Trim - 4-Door


1.

Remove the cap (A).


2.

Remove the opener lock cylinder (B).


3.

Remove the screw (A).


4.

Remove the front door sill trim (A).


6. Kick Panel


1.

Pull out the front door opening seal (A) as needed.


2.

Remove the kick panel (B).


7. Brake Pedal Assembly


1.

Disconnect the connector (A).


2.

Remove the harness clip (B).


3.

Remove the brake pedal position switch (C).


4.

Remove the lock pin (D) and the clevis pin (E).


5.

Remove the brake pedal with the bracket (F).


1. Brake Pedal Assembly

1.

Install the brake pedal with the bracket (A).


2.

Install the lock pin (B) and the clevis pin (C).


3.

Install the brake pedal position switch (D).


4.

Install the harness clip (E).


5.

Connect the connector (F).


2. Brake Pedal Height - Inspection

1.

Pull back the carpet, and find the cutout (A) in the insulation. Measure the pedal height (B) from the left side middle of the pedal pad (C) to the floor (D) without the insulation.


Standard pedal height:

149-159 mm (5.87-6.26 in)

   

Si:

151-161 mm (5.94-6.34 in)

 

A/T:

147-157 mm (5.79-6.18 in)


2.

If the pedal height is not as specified, adjust the pedal height.


3. Brake Pedal Position Switch - Adjustment

1.

Lift up on the brake pedal by hand. Push in the brake pedal position switch until its plunger is fully pressed (threaded end (A) touching the pad (B) on the pedal arm). Turn the switch 45 ° clockwise to lock it. The gap between the brake pedal position switch and the pad is automatically adjusted to 0.7 mm (0.028 in) by locking the switch. Make sure the brake lights go off when the pedal is released.


4. Brake Pedal Free Play - Check


1.

Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).


2.

Inspect the free play (A) at the brake pedal pad (B) by pushing the brake pedal by hand. If the brake pedal free play is out of specification, adjust the brake pedal position switch (C). If the brake pedal free play is insufficient, it may result in brake drag.


Free play: 1-5 mm (0.04-0.20 in)


5. Kick Panel


1.

Install the kick panel (A).


2.

Install the front door opening seal (B).


6. Front Door Sill Trim - 4-Door

1.

Install the front door sill trim (A).


2.

Install the screw (A).



3.

Install the opener lock cylinder (A).


4.

Install the cap (B).


7. Front Door Sill Trim - 2-Door

1.

Install the front door sill trim (A).


2.

Install the screw (A).



3.

Install the opener lock cylinder (A).


4.

Install the cap (B).


8. Front Seat Belt Lower Anchor Bolt - 2-Door

Assemble the washer, the collar, and the bushing on the lower anchor bolt as shown.


NOTE: Apply medium strength liquid thread lock to the lower anchor bolt before reinstallation.

2.

Install the lower anchor bolt (A).


3.

Install the lower anchor cap (B).


9. Footrest


1.

For some models: Install the upper clip (A) to the stud bolt (B).


2.

For some models: Install the lower clip (C) to the stud bolt (D), then install the footrest (E).


10. Steering Joint Cover

1.

Install the steering joint cover (A) in the sequence shown.
